Kas
 Further west of Kekova, you come to Kas, a beautiful place, surrounded on three sides by mountains. The friendly local fishermen are happy to take on running a water taxi service, a popular Bay, the bay or on the beach along the coast. The swimming and diving in the clear cool water around Kas excellent.From old Antiphellos, as Kas was once known, only Lycian rock tombs and sarcophagi are left cut. But is the charm of the city, and it is a pleasure to wander through the streets, stopping at souvenir shops to check that offer Turkish handicrafts, leather goods, copper and silver, cotton clothing and the inevitable handmade carpets. After shopping stroll along the flower-lined Akdeniz Promenade or relax in the shade of a palm tree. Kas bars and restaurants offer plenty of nightlife. The mountains that surround the town provide their share of activities and attractions. You can go through forested hills to remote villages and ancient ruins on foot. The energetic, you may want the highest mountain in the region, Mt attempt. Kizlar Sivrisi (3086 m), or the second highest, Mt Akdag (3030 meters).Along the scenic Kalkan road Kapitas has a beautiful beach, turquoise on one end of the cave. |
