Fethiye and Oludeniz (Blue Lagoon)
 The popular resort Fethiye, 135 km southeast of Marmaris and has an important marina at the head of a beautiful bay strewn with islands. A hill with the ruins of the crusader fortress built by the Knights of Rhodes crowned overlooking the small harbor. Above the town, (in ancient times called Telmessos), numerous Lycian rock tombs, reproducing the facades of the old buildings have been cut into the rock face. The grave of Amyntas, which probably is from the fourth century BC, the most impressive. Swimmers head for the popular Calis Beach, four kilometers west of the city, or Sovalye island facing the port, the blazes with flowers in spring. |
